The first day

Today we got to the Point campus about 6pm. At the airport we all got our bags, then waited for the AmeriCorps representative to come pick us up, we finally got on the bus after about a half hour wait. When we got to campus we switched from the bus to large passenger vans, which transported us immediately to pick up our house keys and our sleeping bags if needed. We were then driven to our housed to just drop off our gear and get back in the van to head out to dinner. Dinner was with everyone in a big conference room. I sat at a table with two team leaders (from now on called TL), one was from Vancouver and the other is from NM and her brother graduated from NMT.

After dinner we all headed back to our house to settle in and unpack. I have 7 house-mates, they are from: Chicago, El Paso TX, Silver City NM, Nebraska, Indiana, and I don't know where the 7th guy is from. My room-mate is pretty cool, he is from Nebraska and just finished college so he is doing AmeriCorps for a break from all that crap.

Our house is supposed to be the best house out of all of them. We are the only house with carpet in the living and dining room. We have a TV, DVD, Stereo, Claw footed bathtub, several dressers and desks, pictures and other girls decorations on all of the shelves. Our kitchen has all of the cook ware that we are ever going to need along with a foot massager underneath the sink.

We checked out the Rec house which has a pool table, air hockey, foose ball, and two other TV's. We ended up watching that old retarded Dinasoare (sp) TV show but we didn't like it so people came to our place to watch Superbad, unfortunately we were all tired and stopped half way to go to sleep. That was my first day at the Point.
